About the Author

For the last 6 years, VL McBeath (Val) has been writing a series of books inspired by her interest in family history. When she started her research she had no idea what she would find or where it would lead. A couple of years later, however, she felt compelled to turn the unfolding story into a novel.

Initially intended as a stand alone book, the story has now evolved into 'The Ambition & Destiny Series', a family saga of Love, Loss and Betrayal set against the backdrop of Victorian England. A short story prequel to the series 'Condemned by Fate' is currently available and the first book of the main series, 'Hooks & Eyes', is due for publication in March 2017. Val hopes that book 2 will be available around mid-2017. Books 3 and 4 are already written and should be edited and ready for release later in the year.

Born and raised in Liverpool (UK), Val trained as a scientist and has worked for the pharmaceutical industry for many years. She now lives in Cheshire with her husband, two daughters and cat. In addition to family history, her interests include rock music and Premier League Football.
