Book Summary

Here's the good news
Plenty of people will tell you that novel writing is a mysterious process. There’s something ineffable and undefinable about it. Well, I’m here to tell you that’s not true! It is not only possible, but it’s actually enjoyable, to break down the novel writing process into manageable chunks, and to find time in your life to write your book: this book shows you how. Most books on novel writing give you a system for doing it. This book gives you a system and helps you to fit the writing into your everyday life using tried and tested time management and productivity techniques.

Small steps in a nutshell
How to Write a Novel and Get It Published is based on the Small Steps method. In a nutshell, I believe that you can take a task, however daunting, and break it down into smaller and smaller steps until it becomes manageable. You can do small things in your everyday life to allow you to achieve your goals. In other words, you can take small steps towards planning, writing and finishing a novel and getting it published.

About the Author

Louise Tondeur published two novels with Headline Review: The Water’s Edge and The Haven Home for Delinquent Girls. Then she travelled for a while, wrote a PhD, started a family, published short stories, poems and articles, and worked full-time as a university lecturer, all the time trying to find time to write amongst the hectic-ness of everyday life. She developed the Small Steps method to help her undergraduate students with time management skills, and to help herself carve out some writing time. Now she shares her productivity tips on the Small Steps blog at: www.smallstepsguide.co.uk Her author website is at: www.louisetondeur.co.uk
