TheSage allows you to look up words directly from most applications, offering multiple detailed definitions each coupled with its own thesaurus. Along with WordWeb Pro I use TheSage constantly when I am writing. If differs in many ways to WordWeb but it is equally as powerful at delivering you a wide choice of related words to use in your writing materials.
In particular I like how it gives you explanations for its choice of options that it throws out when you type in any give word. This comes in a ladder and like WordWeb it tells if the word choice is a noun, verb or adjective or adverb.
From the screenshot below you can see that you can have a multitude of word choices going on at any one time.
This is certainly a piece of software that all aspiring novelist and writers who aim to self-publish their books should have mooching away in the writing background!
TheSage to knock your self-published novel into shape with the best choice of strong, active verbs.
