Mike Craven, a native of Newcastle, joined the army aged sixteen and spent eleven years having fun all over the world. Studying social work at Northumbria University, he qualified as a probation officer in 1999 and he has been doing this ever since. Although he has been writing since he was a boy it was no more than a hobby until his first novel, Born in a Burial Gown, was shortlisted for the Crime Writer's Association's 2013 Debut Dagger. It will be published by Caffeine Nights in 2015. Mike lives in Carlisle with his wife Joanne and his springer spaniel, Bracken.
