Book Summary

A rogue warrior. A young leader. Together, they’ll save their world… or watch it burn.

Rizelya’s fight continues in book 2 of the Malvers War.

Blazel is used to doing things alone after spending years in complete isolation battling the twisted-beasts who threaten his people. When he’s called back home, he expects to be shunned by the society that never accepted him. Instead, he discovers a community and his return home brings prophetic dreams bubbling to the surface…

Rizelya has her own prophecy to deal with. The threat of complete annihilation of her people hangs over her head, but a small sliver of hope remains. If Rizelya can find an ancient ally that has fallen into myth, they might just have a chance to survive the coming firestorm.

When Blazel reveals he’s lived with the elusive Phengriffs, he and Rizelya embark on a quest to save the Posair race. If they fail, a dark prophecy will come to pass, and their people will surely fall…

If you like strong female lead characters, compelling shapeshifters, richly built worlds, and death-defying quests, then you’ll love Tora Moon’s Malvers War series. Ancient Allies is the second book in a series of action-packed, epic magical fantasy novels.

This book made me lose sleep. I like a good other-world science fantasy, and the first book in the series, Ancient Enemies, left me wanting more. This book kept me glued to the story, and I still want more. How long must I wait for book 3? ☺--Amazon review

The Second Book is just as good as the first. OK,... maybe even better, still a page turner.
I want Book 3 NOW. ;-}--Amazon review

About the Author

Tora Moon writes all genres of fantasy and she especially loves to write stories which allow the reader to journey into worlds full of magic and escape their ordinary lives for a time. Ancient cultures and religions, mythology, and folklore fascinate her and find their way into her stories.

Like most fiction authors, Tora fell in love with the written word and stories when she was a child. She loved The Witch of Blackbird Pond and The Island of the Blue Dolphin. As a teenager she found Dune, Conan the Barbarian, the Xanth series, and the Dragonriders of Pern (which is still her all-time favorite series). After that, much to her mother’s literary disappointment (she studied British Literature in college), her genre of choice was fantasy, science fantasy, with a bit of science fiction thrown in.

She writes what she loves to read: all genres of fantasy, paranormal romance, and a bit of science fiction. Tora loves stories like Star Wars which mix magic and science into science fantasy. She likes a little love and romance to sweeten the pot, but not enough to make it sickly sweet.

Tora believes humanity is a new species and not the only intelligent one to inhabit this galaxy and universe and that belief flows into her stories. Most of her stories include a character or two (or a whole lot more) which aren’t humanoid and quite a few who have shape-shifting abilities.

She was a single-mother and chose a profession that would support her and her daughter: accounting, over what she loved: mythology and creative writing. Tora has had a long career in accounting, becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), having her own consulting business, and serving as the Chief Financial Officer for a publicly-held company. Her first published writing was quarterly and annual financial reports filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for her clients—dull reading, but it kept her fingers nimble.

Tora loves to travel and has been to several countries and likes to bring that love into her stories. She lived in Orange County, California for over twenty years before taking to the road and living in a fifth-wheel RV for several years while traveling around the western United States. Besides reading, some of her hobbies are sewing, crocheting, and making wire-wrapped jewelry. Currently, Tora makes her home in the southwestern desert with her feline companion.
