Why does God allow suffering? That's a question most people have asked at one time or another. And few people have found satisfactory answers. But Ms Steiner has had many opportunities to consider this question and beautifully expounds on her answers as the gifts of suffering. As she explains in the book, we cannot understand hope without suffering. If you have struggled with understanding suffering, this book will point you in the right direction.

Being the methodical person I am, I approached this book as an educational experience and began to map out how many chapters I would read a day. But once I began reading, I couldn’t stop. Darci Steiner’s powerful journey through chronic pain is an inspiring, heartfelt testimony of God’s grace and greater purpose for our passing afflictions. For Darci Steiner, the sufficiency of God’s grace is not mere head knowledge but sacred revelation because she experienced his divine strength in a personal and authentic way. I would definitely recommend this beautifully written must-read to anyone suffering pain, whether physical, mental, or emotional. God will doubtlessly use this publication to impact countless lives. (P.S. Loved the original poetry. Absolutely beautiful!)

The author drew me in from the first page giving me a much needed reminder that the trials I am
currently going through are gifts. Not ones wrapped up in a shiny package with a bow on top, ones that I will learn lessons from leading me to grow & evolve into the woman God created me to be. A must read that I will refer back to as a reminder of God’s plan for me.

Darci is an exceptional author. She is able to make you feel sympathy, panic, excited? Joy, pain, anguish, and happiness in this book. It takes a truly special author to make the reader feel all of these emotions in a story and she succeeds.

This book is amazing! As a minister I am continually counseling with and praying for people who are enduring some type of life altering challenge. Whether that time is momentary or spans years, knowing what to say and how to say it is never easy. This book is one that I will be recommending often. Steiner’s personal stories and her in-depth insights into Jesus and his interactions with people who were suffering not only inspired me but also taught me new perspectives that I can use in my own life and pass on to others.

This book sets itself wildly apart from all of the other faith-based and inspiring stories I’ve read as an editor. Darci’s presence as an author is that of a studious mind with a hunger for answers. The way she views her life story has shifted my view on my own. I’m deeply grateful to the gift this book has given me in peace of mind over what life has thrown at me. I feel as though I can breathe a bit easier, which is exactly what I’m looking for in a book like this.
Can’t recommend enough.

As a doctor, I work with chronic pain patients. I found this book very inspiring and it is very important to know the patient`s journey. I highly recommend this book to all Healthcare work to understand patients' journey dealing with pain and to patients dealing with chronic pain. Great book, very well written!!

In this book, the author demonstrates what she has learned through her own pain and suffering. And her pain has been severe. Whilst it many not seem like a gift at the time, she looks at the gifts she gained through it. For anyone in pain, for anyone suffering, this book is an inspiring gift of hope. Beautifully written, the author relates her experiences to biblical stories; her faith is clearly a huge support to her. An incredible book!
