Testimonials

'Whenever I read a Rose English story I can imagine the setting and the ideal place to read it. Young Ebenezer would be perfect for a cold snowy day, sitting inside with the children by a glowing fire.' Deb McEwan (Multi-genre author)

Audio Book
'The voice of the narrator sounded liked the perfect Dickens character. He created a warmth and holiday feel I would not have felt if I had read it myself!' BJC (Amazon reviewer)

About the Author

I am a dreamer, preferring a simple & quiet life. Often spending time alone, although never lonely, being ever surrounded by great characters, when lost in a good book.I love theatre and the arts, adoring live performances on stage. My tastes are eclectic.

Living on ‘England’s Green & Pleasant Land’, amongst the gentle rolling hills, of the Herefordshire Countryside, my house is wall to wall books. I even have a ‘leaning tower of paperbacks’.

Working as a school librarian, and sharing my love of books with children, was the best job I ever had. However, life moves on and another chapter was only a page turn away.

Now working in an entirely different library, in Hereford’s Wye Valley NHS Trust Hospital, I spend my day cleaning and issuing ‘Medical Equipment’.

I write mainly as a hobby, but after winning ‘First Prize’ for a short story in December 2014, I was inspired to write more.

Currently working on several projects, mainly a sequel to Young Ebenezer for younger readers and those of us who are young at heart. I have also for sometime now been working on an anthology of ‘Shoe Shorts‘, stories based around shoes that I own. Plus a new version of ‘The Great Selkie of Sule Skerry’.
