The 2014 Manchester Children’s Book Festival will be eleven days of fun, events, projects and activities for children, young adults - and anyone who's ever loved children's books. The Festival has three main strands:
Public Events - readings, performances and craft activities for children and families;
Schools’ Programmes - including author visits, creative workshops, extended projects, and competitions;
Continuing Professional Development - training for teachers, writers, librarians and arts practitioners to ensure the Festival has a legacy beyond the eleven days.
- Hosted by the Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University, and featuring many of today's favourite children's writers, the 2014 festival includes events at many of Manchester's major cultural and educational venues.
